Work Experience Programmes provide valuable work experience opportunities, training and support for persons of all ages, abilities, and special needs. Assisting individuals to gain work and life skills necessary to fulfill their potential, thus promoting more successful integration into the community and workforce is the primary goal of our programmes. WindReach is committed to developing open and cooperative relationships with individuals, employers, schools and other organizations and helping to strengthen the community and workforce by promoting diversity and disability awareness.
Work Experience TransitionThe Work Experience Transition Programme seeks to provide participants with work and life skills that will allow them to be integrated into the wider community. Participants undergo a three to six month training programme which is reviewed monthly to ensure that there is a gradual increase in responsibility and skill levels until they are ready to take their place in the workforce. Adults work in jobs which include reception, clerical, janitorial, grounds-keeping, mail sorting, and basic animal care. Participants are given an honorarium each month for their work.
Job Support ServicesAssistance is given to Work Experience Transition participants with job readiness skills which includes: creating resumes, filling out job application forms, preparing for interviews, and job maintenance. Job coaching and support is provided once they have found employment. WindReach also provides job coaching services to other local organizations, businesses and the Bermuda Government.
Student Work ExperienceThe Student Work Experience Programme involves school age students from local schools. Students work experience includes: reception, clerical, housekeeping, basic animal care, groundskeeping, janitorial, gardening and car detailing. The programme is run in partnership with participating schools. |
