WALK & ROLL

Hundreds of walkers, runners, bikers and wheelchair users of all ages came out to support the 9th WindReach Walk & Roll. Everybody enjoyed the sunshine and the peace and tranquility of Coopers Island. It was a great turnout including groups from schools, corporations and other organisations. We would like to recognize participants from Capital G, and Arthur Morris Christensen & Co, Saltus and the Adaptive Sports Group, who were all recipients of awards. All funds raised will be used to support the programmes and activities at WindReach, which offer recreational, educational and therapeutic opportunities and provide a richer life to people with disabilities.

We would also like to thank Capital G and Butterfield & Vallis & Oscar Mayer as major sponsors for this event. Without their generous assistance it would not have been the success it was. The Butterfield & Vallis tent was a hit with our walkers and rollers, who were very keen to co-operate and participate in all the tastings and samplings on offer! Thank you Butterfield & Vallis for supplying all these treats for our supporters, it was very much appreciated. And of course there are so many people who have helped to make this such a successful event; Wendy Madeiros at TMC, Chris Worsick at Island Press, VSB “crew”,  Delano Ingham for sound and electronic engineering, Ed Christopher as Emcee and countless volunteers who gave up their morning to help. Thank you to everyone and see you all again next year!!
